SLO County Food Study Group
The SLO County Food Study Group meets the second Monday of each month from 5:30 to 7 pm at SLO Provisions at 1255 Monterey Street on the corner of Johnson Avenue.
The mission of the group is to research, archive, and discuss the food and agriculture history of the region, including cattle, sheep, and dairy ranching; fishing; fruit, vegetable, and grain growing; wine production; and organic farming, as well as cooking and consumption. From the North County mountains to the Pacific, San Luis Obispo basks in a Mediterranean climate with fertile soils and a wide variety of microclimates.
The Food Study Group is sponsored by the Wine History Project of San Luis Obispo County, which celebrates the pairing of food and wine and their histories.
Our thanks to Dwyne Willis and Steve Bland for making SLO Provisions available.
